Demonetization of high value notes has been showing adverse affects on film industry. Most of the single screens across India are running to near empty theaters.
New releases have been struggling to find audience in many villages and towns. Ongoing shootings are also affected due to cash ban, says the buzz.
As per gossip winery, upcoming big ticket films Dhruva and Khaidi No. 150 might be postponed as they were funded by the same financier.
Distributors that have bought these films may not be able to pay the promised amount on time due to the currency ban. So it will be pretty hard for these films to release as per earlier plans.
Same is the case with many other high budget films that are currently under production. It is almost impossible for the buyers to pay everything in white, which may result in cancelling of the previously closed deals.
There will be a huge overhaul in the dynamics of film market and it will take some years for the normalcy to be restored.
