Defector To Unseat Minister In Naidu Cabinet?

Defector To Unseat Minister In Naidu Cabinet?

If speculations going on in the Telugu Desam Party camp are to be believed, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Rural Development and Sanitation Kimidi Mrunalini is most likely to face the axe in the forthcoming expansion of the Chandrababu Naidu cabinet.

According to these speculations, Naidu is not happy with the performance of Mrunalini as a minister, as she hardly evinces interest in participating in the official programmes, leave alone conducting official review meetings and working out new schemes. So, Naidu wants to replace her with a younger minister.

But the actual reason, according to party sources, is that Naidu had offered Cabinet berth to YSR Congress party MLA from Bobbili Sujaya Venkata Krishna Ranga Rao, who is all set to join the TDP any time.

In fact, Ranga Rao had agreed to join the TDP only after he was given assurance of a Cabinet berth. Since there cannot be two ministers from the same Vizianagaram district, Mrunalini would be made the scapegoat for the sake of the defecting MLA, sources said.

What is going to be bumper offer for Naidu is that if Ranga Rao gets the Cabinet berth, he has agreed to bring two more YSR Congress party MLAs --- Pushpa Sri Vani from Kurupam and Kambala Jogulu from Rajam – into the TDP. So, it’s triple bonanza for the TDP!
