Ever since his name did not figure in the list of 105 candidates announced by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for the forthcoming assembly electins, former minister Danam Nagender has been missing from action.
Naturally, it led to the speculations in the media that he is sulking and might consider returning to the Congress fold.
A section of social media also spread the talk that he had already met Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy and expressed his desire to come back provide he is assured of the seat.
As a result, Danam was forced to come before the media on Monday denying the talk that he had met Uttam Kumar Reddy.
“There is absolutely no truth in the rumours, which are being spread only to create confusion among the people and defame me. I will continue in the TRS and won’t return to the Congress at all,” he said.
There are reports that Danam is still waiting for clarity on Khairatabad and Goshamahal seats from the TRS leadership.
He does not want to antagonize KCR at this stage when the decision on these two seats is pending. There is a stiff competition for both the seats.
However, there are also reports that KCR might put up some weak candidates in these two seats so that the BJP would win them.
If it is true, Danam may not get the party ticket. Though he is unhappy over it, he does not want to disclose his mind.
For the record, he says he has joined the TRS unconditionally, without expecting any seat.
“I will abide by whatever decision KCR will take. It is okay for me even if I do not get the ticket,” he said.
One has to wait and see once what Danam would do, if he does not get the TRS ticket from any constituency.
