Former minister Dadi Veerabhadra Rao, who once played a big role in the Telugu Desam Party, is now struggling to get back into the party after having an uneventful stint in the YSR Congress party.
Dadi, who had quit the YSRC last year, sent several feelers to TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu that he was ready to get back into the party, but there was no response from Naidu.
Apparently, another minister from Visakhapatnam Ch Ayyanna Patrudu is preventing Naidu from admitting Dadi back into the TDP.
“That is not an issue. If Naidu wants to take me into the TDP, he would have done it irrespective of the opposition from others. But somehow, the party president himself seems to be not keen on admitting me into the party,” Dadi said in an interview to a television channel.
Frustrated with his failed attempts, Dadi is now attacking Naidu.
“He is struggling to run the government and has failed to fulfil several promises made before the elections. Several schemes like crop loan waiver are not being implemented properly. Naidu has also failed to secure special category status to the state, though he is capable of bringing pressure on the Centre to grant it,” he said.
The former minister also accused Naidu of not pursuing the issue of getting Bharat Ratna to N T Rama Rao.
“The main reason is Naidu fears if the Centre gives Bharat Ratna to NTR, it would be received by his widow Lakshmi Parvathi,” Dadi said.
