'Cyclone War' Between North & Central Andhra Leaders!

'Cyclone War' Between North & Central Andhra Leaders!

Normally, there will be a 'cold war' between politicians. Strangely, Andhra Pradesh has been witnessing 'cyclone war' between North Andhra and Central Andhra leaders.

The war cropped up during a meeting convened by South Central Railway general manager with MPs of Andhra Pradesh to discuss on Railway Budget proposals for AP.

In the meeting, MPs from North Andhra region demanded SCR to set up a railway zone in Vizag.

Narasaraopeta MP Rayapati Samsashiva Rao who was present in the meeting objected this and said there was no need to grant a railway zone for Vizag, which is prone to cyclones.

This angered North Andhra leaders who said Central Andhra leaders like Rayapati were always discriminating North Andhra and if it continues the chances of "Separate North Andhra State" like Telangana earlier may soon begin and this was not good for AP.

North Andhra MPs Rammohan Naidu and Avanthi Srinivas took a dig at Rayapati saying that he was trying to grab railway project from Vizag to Central Andhra under the guise of cyclone.

"Even Krishna and Guntur are frequently affected by cyclone. Are we demanding not to construct new capital city Amaravati there because of this. Don't make such silly remarks. Talk like a responsible person," they told Rayapati.

Rayapati also engaged in verbal duel with them. Railway officials and fellow MPs had a tought time pacitying them.

North Andhra MPs later complained to AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu against Rayapati.
