Currency Ban Impact: It's Just Labour Pain!

Strange are the ways of our Union ministers from Telugu land. They are trying to find all kinds of similes to describe the latest move of Prime Minister Narendra Modi demonetising Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes.

If Union minister of state for science and technology Sujana Chowdary has described the special category status to Andhra Pradesh with banned currency notes, his senior M Venkaiah Naidu, union minister for information and broadcasting and urban development, compared the difficulties being faced by the people on account of currency ban with labour pains of a pregnant woman.

“Just before delivery of her baby, every pregnant woman undergoes a lot of labour pain. But after the child is born, not only the mother but also the father will cry with joy. Similarly, the present ban on 500 and 1000 rupee notes may cause a lot of pain to the people, but once they start witnessing the results of the ban, they will be extremely happy,” Venkaiah said in Rajya Sabha.

A bad comparison this, Mr Venkaiah!
