One of the allegations against Chandrababu Naidu is that his ideas are never original but taken from someone else.
Adding further credibility to this is Naidu’s latest promise of constructing a ‘Christian Bhavan’ in Guntur at a cost of Rs 10 crore. This comes close on the heels of KCR’s announcement of a similar Bhavan for Christians in Hyderabad.
Development can only come at the expense of populism and vice-versa. Trying to strike a balance between the both is a foolhardy attempt.
At best it would result in policies with a trickle-down effect resulting in minimal development to the masses and immense well-being of those in power.
Pretty soon, we can expect the ‘Muslim Bhavan’, ‘Buddhist Bhavan’, ‘Jain Bhavan’ and ‘Parsi Bhavan’. It would be the perfect manifestation of a classic polarization of society.
