With the Congress high command putting up adamant posture on the State bifurcation issue and tabling the Telangana bill in Parliament, party leaders from Seemandhra have started deserting it one after the other.
On Thursday, four Congress MLAs from Seemandhra region resigned from their posts in protest against the tabling of Telangana Bill in Lok Sabha. Minutes before Union Home Minister Suhil Kumar Shinde rose to table the Telangana Bill in Lok Sabha, the MLAs - Adala Prabhakar Reddy, Sridhar Krishna Reddy, Bandaru Satyananda Raju and R Pratap Reddy announced their resignation from the Assembly's membership and the Congress party.
The MLAs sent their resignation papers to PCC President Botsa Satyanarayana and Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar.
Many more MLAs are expected to follow suit in the next couple of days. And the day is not far off when the Congress party becomes empty in Seemandhra!
