Congress MLC K Yadava Reddy, who had almost jumped into the Telangana Rashtra Samithi the other day, is now trying to blackmail the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee demanding that he be given the Zilla Parishat chairman post of Ranga Reddy district to him.
In a letter addressed to TPCC chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Yadava Reddy stated that the party had promised him to give that post three months ago. He objected to the Congress leadership trying to appoint someone else to the post.
“It is not proper to choose some other leader for Ranga Reddy ZP Chairman post while promising me the post,” Yadava Reddy deplored.
Yadava Reddy was planning to switch loyalties to the ruling TRS. But he abstained from doing so a few days ago when five of his colleagues joined the TRS fold, after getting the promise that he would be made Ranga Reddy ZP chairman. However, now, there is a possibility that he may defect to the TRS if the Congress failed to keep its promise of giving him the ZP Chairman post.
