Cong, BJP Come To TDP Support

It is a known fact that the Bharatiya Janata Party is the electoral ally of the Telugu Desam Party. So, there is nothing wrong in the BJP leaders coming to the support of the TDP MLAs who were suspended from the Telangana Assembly for 10 days.

But surprisingly, even the Congress MLAs also came to the TDP’s rescue in the Assembly.

On Saturday, the Assembly witnessed altercation between the entire Opposition parties and the ruling TRS party on the suspension on 10 TD members from the house for seven days.

During Zero Hour, BJP and Congress members tried to fix the ruling party on suspension of TDP members including its deputy floor leader Revanth Reddy.

The BJP floor leader Dr K Lakshman wanted revocation of the suspension to enable the TD members to get back to the house.

Suspension of the members will send wrong signals and this is not a good practice of the legislature, Lakshman noted.

BJP member G Kishen Reddy alleged that the house denied time to the opposition members while the ministers consumed most of the time.

Seeking withdrawal of the suspension, he said that Revanth did not insult Kavitha, but made some remarks based on newspaper reports.

Congress member Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, too, demanded the treasury benches to explain why the suspension decision was taken. He said that the TDP members were ousted for Revanth’s jibe against Kavitha and not for coming in the way of proceedings.

Mallu accused Minister Harish Rao of misguiding the house by contending that the TDP created hurdles to state interests in this regard.
