Hyderabad: Even as the 29th state of Telangana had become a reality, various leaders continue to indulge in mud-slinging.
Chandra Babu raised various issues and said that the entire process of bifurcation happened in an undemocratic way.
He however made it clear that he and his party were not against bifurcation, but were unhappy with the way the process was carried out.
Babu reminded that he had asked for the separation to be conducive to the interests of both parties and insisted on elaborate discussions between both regions.
He accused the Congress party of conspiracy to gain political mileage in both the regions.
He also took the opportunity to say that when he mentioned equal justice, some senior leaders made deriding comments about him. In fact, Chiranjeevi failed to understand what I meant by equal justice, he joked.
Like many other leaders, Babu also expressed concern over lack of clarity on certain key issues like the Rs 17,000 crore revenue deficit.
While calling Seemandhra’s special status a eye-wash gesture, he said building a new capital city was no joke and demanded for Rs 4 lakh crore from the Centre.
He said the Centre should aid in building educational, health and financial institutions for the development of Seemandhra.
Finally, Babu also predicted that it won’t be long before the TRS will merge with the Congress.
