Chiddu not happy with bifurcation process?

If the reports from New Delhi are to be believed, differences have cropped up within the Group of Ministers constituted to look into the State bifurcation process over the way the entire exercise is being carried out.

According to sources, Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram has expressed unhappiness over the decision to bypass the State legislative assembly in preparing the draft Telangana Bill. He reportedly told the other members of the GoM that it would be better to follow the Chattisgarh model to facilitate the bifurcation process.

However, Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde listed out several constraints in following the Chattisgarh model, as the Andhra Pradesh bifurcation involved complexities on water, power or even capital.

Obviously, Chidambaram is under pressure from his friend Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on seeking the assembly opinion on Telangana, so that there would be no progress on bifurcation if the assembly rejected the Bill.
