Right now, the media in the state is facing a peculiar problem. It can be said that many of the major media houses have lost credibility.
Since the media houses are constantly dishing out positive stories about the political leaders or the political parties they support, the viewers are no longer able to figure out what is true and what is made up.
Recently, there has been a story on one news channel about a young politician saying that his popularity was reducing.
Knowing pretty well that the viewers would not trust their survey, they made up a story saying that this fact was revealed after a survey was carried out by the media house supporting the young politician.
Now, what can be more demeaning and base than such planted stories? The situation has deteriorated as the media houses have given up the values they once held close.
Though we cannot single out one media house, many of them are becoming the mouthpieces of various political parties.
They have to realize what kind of moral values remain if the channels stoop down to the level of quoting the results of other surveys instead of their own surveys.
