Chandra Babu is a rather busy man these days. Well, being the Chief Minister of a state, he is bound to be busy. But the actual reason behind Chandra Babu’s busy schedule is the fact that he is the Chief Minister of a new state.
For now, the Assembly and Secretariat are in Hyderabad, which is the common capital for another 10 years. Meanwhile, he has attended the TDLC meeting in Tirupati, held his first Cabinet meeting in Vizag and had his swearing in ceremony in Guntur. So, Babu has been shuttling between Andhra, Telangana and New Delhi without a moment to spare.
A couple of days back, he had to rush to Andhra Pradesh cutting short his Delhi tour due to the gasline leakage disaster in Konaseema. Now, a building has collapsed in Chennai and some Andhra workers are stuck there. So, he has a visit scheduled for Chennai.
Poor Babu is completely tied down as there are many issues due to AP being a new state, it not having a capital city and the many unexpected problems that are cropping up all over the state. Being in power, it is his duty to go to the affected places and comfort the people there.
Meanwhile, he also has the task of announcing ex-gratia to the families of those who died. He had announced an ex-gratia of Rs 3 lakh per family for those who died due to gasline leakage. Similarly, for the Telugu students who died in the Himachal tragedy, he took the first and announced ex-gratia. Now, he is expected to announce an ex-gratia for families of those who died in Chennai.
On the other hand, the Andhra Pradesh people are quite disturbed by the various incidents that are happening one after the other. And Babu is also finding it rather difficult to relax and enjoy being in the CM’s seat after a gap of 10 years.
