MP and Congress candidate from Medak Assembly seat M Vijayashanti on Friday welcomed the CBI Special Court order for a probe into her properties and wealth.
Welcoming the court decision for a probe against Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao, MLA Harish Rao and herself, she said that the true facts would come out with the probe, and since she had not committed any crime she was prepared to face any investigation.
However, the TRS felt that it was at the behest of a desperate and frustrated Congress leadership the CBI probe was being sought. TRS leader Harish Rao charged that since the Congress was bound to not only get defeated in Telangana but the party’s nominees would all lose their deposits, the CBI was being misused as a last resort to save its skin.
Harish Rao challenged the Congress that any coercive and blackmailing tactics by the party would not deter the TRS on the verge of giving a crushing blow to the Congress. He, however, said that he was prepared for any inquiry into his assets.
