Capital won't hit farmers, says Naidu

Capital won't hit farmers, says Naidu

Andhra Pradesh Government will give first priority to farmers with regard to construction of new capital, according to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Addressing a press conference at “Cyber Ganga” in Secretariat here, the CM maintained that the farmers will get their role to play in the construction of the new capital through their land.

He said that the government is keeping its promises on one hand and focusing on income sources for the new capital construction on the other.

Chandrababu said that the Capital city will not hamper the interests of the farmers who have to come forward liberally to give their land.

Trying to allay fears he asked the farmers to shun doubts on the land needed for new capital to be built on international standards.

Feigning ignorance on opposition criticism on new capital and land pooling Naidu accused the former of adopting double standards. Those who opposed the place for the new capital and the land to be used are now criticizing the Government.

Even the Opposition leaders suggested the government to construct the capital in forest land instead of collecting it from the farmers he said. However the government will convince the farming community to give their land for capital city, he said.
