Can Naidu Do Away With Belt Shops!

The third file signed by the TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu immediately after taking oath as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister was to do away with belt shops (unauthorized liquor shops) all over the State.

It was one of the tall promises made by Naidu during his electioneering. But many would doubt whether it is practically possible, as liquor flows everywhere and people still run after it notwithstanding the restrictions.

Why should we go that extent? According to reports coming from Guntur, where Naidu took oath on Sunday evening, there was a heavy rush at all liquor shops and the booze was available at every nook and corner of the district.

When there is such a huge demand from people, how can the government stop mushrooming of belt shops?

Well, Naidu can only do one thing: regularize belt shops and make them official; so that there would be no unauthorized liquor shops!
