The speculations regarding the possible announcement of BRS's first list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly polls in Telangana on Monday, August 21, have generated significant political tension in BRS.
Numerous 'leaked lists' are circulating on social media platforms, hinting at which sitting MLA will receive the ticket and which will be denied it. These leaks are causing severe anxiety among sitting MLAs and numerous ticket aspirants in BRS for various Assembly constituencies.
As a result, sitting MLAs and ticket aspirants are rushing to the residence of BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha in Banjara Hills. They are appealing to the daughter of BRS President and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to come to their aid and secure tickets for them.
But why are BRS leaders converging at Kavitha's residence? This is because KCR is not accessible to just anyone; he can only be met if he chooses to meet someone.
KCR's second-in-command left for the US on Saturday night for his son Himanshu's undergraduate admission. There is no clarity on when KTR will return to Hyderabad; some suggest he may stay abroad for over a week.
With no access to KCR and KTR, BRS ticket aspirants are now turning to Kavitha's residence. Those unable to reach Kavitha are attempting to contact Minister Harish Rao, who is KCR's nephew.
However, the big question remains whether Kavitha and Harish have the capacity to influence KCR in the selection of BRS candidates for the Assembly polls. BRS circles suggest that while KCR may listen to KTR to some extent, there is no way he would consider the recommendations of Kavitha or Harish.
