Telugu Desam Party on Wednesday sought to know whether YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy would submit an affidavit to the people stating that his party would not have any alliance with the Congress before or after 2014 elections.
Reacting strongly to the demand of Jagan seeking affidavits from all Seemandhra leaders against the State bifurcation, senior TDP legislator Payyavula Kesav accused Jagan of being hand in glove with the Congress on the bifurcation issue but putting up a posture as if he was opposing the bifurcation.
“If Jagan is sincere, he should give an undertaking or submit an affidavit to the people assuring that his party would not support the Congress after the 2014 elections,” he demanded.
He charged the YSR Congress party with stalling the assembly only to see that the Telangana bill would go back to President without any debate and get passed in Parliament subsequently.
He said the debate on draft Telangana Bill should be taken up in the Legislative Assembly, whose second phase of winter session will resume from January 3, to highlight the flaws in the crucial document.
Keshav said the legislators should air the aspirations of Seemandhra people during the debate on draft Telangana bill in the House.
There was more scope for pre-poll alliance between the BJP and TDP in 2014 elections, he added.
