YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s proposed meeting with Bharatiya Janata Party president Rajnath Singh on Sunday evening has triggered a talk as to whether the former would be able to change the mindset of the BJP leadership on the Telangana issue.
According to sources, Jagan is expected to request Rajnath not to support the Telangana Bill when it comes up before the Parliament during the winter session.
In return, Jagan might offer his party’s support to the NDA in forming the government at the Centre after 2014.
Of late, there has been a lot of suspicion over the BJP’s stand on Telangana and made one wonder whether it would extend unconditional support to the Telangana Bill in Parliament.
The Jagan-Rajnath meeting would definitely add fuel to that fire.
After extending unstinted support for Telengana, the party leaders demanded justice and special relief for Seemandhra in their representation to the GoM earlier this week.
They even refused to divulge their stance on the Terms of Reference of the bifurcation saying it was for the government to come out with its stand first.
