The AP government seems to be decided on indicting the Telangana government on the phone-tapping issue.
Already, AP CM Chandra Babu Naidu is accused in the note for vote case and the enquiry is presently on.
Now, the AP government is trying to put the Telangana CM on defense mode by delaying the process of issuing notices to Chandra Babu.
So, as a part of this effort, the AP police have served notices to telephone service providers.
They have listed out 120 numbers that have been tapped and an additional 20 numbers and have asked the service providers for details.
In the letter, they have asked if someone had written to the service providers or if someone had asked them verbally for the phones to be tapped.
Meanwhile, the TDP leaders have claimed that they have proof that special equipment has been used by service providers to tap the phones and they have issued notices to the companies.
Now it remains to be seen how the case will progress and there is also discussion as to whether one government can request such details from the other government directly.
The service providers on the other hand claim that they have data for up to 20 days with them.
If this case moves forward, it will help AP government to retain its credibility at this point in time.
