Cabinet Note A Xerox Copy Of CWC Resolution

Not a single word has been changed and not a single concern of the agitating people addressed.

While endorsing the plan to carve out Telangana state, the Union Cabinet has adopted in toto the Congress Working Committee (CWC) resolution on bifurcation of the state.

The question now arises is what was the UPA leadership doing all these 64 days since the CWC passed the resolution? Why did it not take into consideration the massive protests in Seemandhra in the last 64 days?

It was as if the CWC resolution was given the cabinet nod without changing a single word. There is growing criticism against the Congress central leadership for completely ignoring the concerns and grievances of the people of Seemandhra.

There has been no attempt made by the UPA leadership to reconcile the interests of all regions.

"This is a step to hoodwink people without resolving genuine issues. The Congress and the central government have no will, capacity or credibility to bring about an amicable solution. They are playing with fire," said the president of Lok Satta Party Dr N Jayaprakash Narayan.

It is a pity that Pigmies succeeded the nation builders like Sardar vallabhbhai Patel.

"This is political failure and moral bankruptcy. This is a dangerous political gain that will prolong strife and hurt the nation. It is vital that a broad consensus built across all regions. There must be equal dissatisfaction for all. All interests should be protected. Division of a large state with surcharged emotions cannot be an object of short term electoral gains," Dr JP said.

It is time that Congress and BJP acted as responsible national parties and bring all stakeholders together and resolve issues.

"Even Hitler’s Germary and Stalin’s Soviet Union showed greater maturity in dealing with rights of states and federalism," he remarked.
