In the wake of the Group of Ministers’ Chairman and Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde announcing that Telangana Draft Bill will be finalised on December 4 and Telangana Bill will be taken up during Winter Session of the Parliament, the State Cabinet is planning to meet a day before.
According to official sources, the State Cabinet will meet on December 3 and take stock of the bifurcation issue, which is stiffly being opposed by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy. Sources said the Telangana ministers are likely to convince Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to cooperate with the Centre on bifurcation.
However, Kiran Kumar Reddy made it clear that he would oppose the Telangana Bill what may come. The CM has been adopting a strategy against bifurcation of the State unmindful of losing his post for keeping the State undivided.
It is believed that the December 3 cabinet meeting would be the last one to be chaired by Kiran, as there might not be any further meetings after the bifurcation.
