After the advent of social media, there has been no control over imaginative and speculative reports which have no rhyme or reason. Anything can be circulated as news, irrespective of whether there is any basis for it or not.
One such story has come into circulation on the social media, which has no basis or evidence: that is, former Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu might become the next Prime Minister of the country.
Sounds crazy, but the social media report says there is every possibility of Venkaiah becoming the next PM, with the support of regional parties.
According to the report, if the BJP falls short of absolute majority in the next Lok Sabha elections, the other NDA partners might project Venkaiah as an alternative to Modi.
Apparently, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) might also extend its support to Venkaiah’s candidature for the PM post, as an alternative to Modi. Even neutral players like Naveen Patnaik and Mayawati might endorse Venkaiah’s leadership.
Among the Telugu states, too, the Telugu Desam Party and even Bharat Rashtra Samithi might extend support to Venkaiah Naidu.
According to the reports, the TDP might get 15 MP seats and the BRS 10 seats. They, together with BJD which might win 20 MP seats, might project Venkaiah as PM candidate.
The social media report said though the Congress is desperately trying to stitch up the anti-BJP alliance of parties, it might not succeed in getting the absolute majority mark, though the strength of non-BJP parties might go up to some extent.
So, the BJP-led NDA would come to power. However, the NDA partners might demand replacement of Modi with another suitable leader. So, the chance may come to Venkaiah Naidu, the speculative report said.
