Chandrababu Naidu asked the Center for the moon and Narendra Modi showed him a photograph of the moon.
On Thursday, Naidu held a brainstorming session with all departments to explore ways to raise additional resources to fill the State's near empty coffers.
In such a scenario, what would any government do? Increase taxes! With the ‘special status’ now a distant dream and help not forthcoming from the Center along expected lines, it is more or less certain now that Andhra Pradesh would have to indulge in some serious ‘out-of-the-box’ thinking to generate funds.
And the only measure which the government can resort to immediately is to raise taxes. In the first place, TDP gives a letter in support of Telangana to the Center. Now, they could not get ‘special status’ to Andhra Pradesh even though they are an ally of the BJP.
And who has to pay the penalty for this? The people, in the form of higher taxation!
