Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his son, IT minister K T Rama Rao, always make tall claims about Telangana State being the No.1 state in the country and the successful 'start-up' state in terms of development.
However, when it comes to heavy rains and flood management, the BRS government seems to have miserably failed, considering the hardships faced by people across the state due to flooding in all the districts.
Even KTR's own constituency, Siricilla, is caught in a deluge of floodwater entering colonies and houses for the past two days.
Not only Siricilla, but other major towns in Telangana, such as Warangal, Karimnagar, Khammam, etc., are also inundated by floodwater.
The reason is that all the lakes and nalas in cities and towns in Telangana were encroached by BRS leaders, due to which floodwater is entering colonies and houses.
When Hyderabad witnessed heavy floods in October 2020 and when Warangal experienced heavy floods in August 2020, KCR and KTR promised to clear all encroachments on lakes and nalas in Hyderabad and Warangal to prevent flooding in the future but failed to do so even after three years.
Their negligence has now drowned the people of Telangana in floods, with already 20 deaths reported from several districts, as people were washed away in the floods.
