Breach of privilege by Kiran govt?

Accusing the State government of providing incomplete information to the legislators, Telugu Desam Party on Wednesday said misleading the Assembly by providing incomplete and irrelevant information amounts to breach of privilege of the House.

Six TDP MLAs – Payyavula Keshav, Devineni Umamaheshwar Rao, Dullipalla Narendra, B. Mastanrao, Kandula Narayana Reddy and Tangirala Prabhakar Rao, in an open letter, alleged that information in connection with Telangana Bill provided by the State government was incomplete.

“We sought information on various issues of the Bill but information given by the government was irrelevant to our questions”, they said.

In the letter, the TDP legislators said the government had stated that it had no information about debts and properties.

“These two subjects (debts and assets) are very important and not providing information to MLAs and to the public, the Congress government wanted to gain politically which is unfortunate,” they said.

The TDP MLAs said there was a need to give a separate statement about government and private revenue since Hyderabad was capital of the State for the last 55 years.

“We sought information about sharing of revenue. But the government has failed to provide information. We asked for investments details by the Centre and State governments, but government said it has no information,” they said.
