One does not know whether the just concluded three-day national women’s parliament at Amaravati has come out with any concrete suggestions on women empowerment or not; but, it has certainly come out with a news that would definitely make Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu happy.
The news is that Naidu’s daughter-in-law Nara Brahmani is not going to enter politics, at least for now. She made it clear in an interview to a Telugu daily that she was not interested in politics and so, there was no question of entering politics.
She said she was at present extremely busy in developing the family business venture Heritage. However, she would take part in the social service activities on behalf of NTR Memorial Trust.
This would be a big relief for Naidu, who is said to be fearing a coup against him from within his family one day or the other.
In fact, Naidu was surprised when Brahmani commissioned a survey on the prospects of the TDP in the next elections and came to the conclusion that the wind is blowing against the ruling party. It had raised the doubt as to whether she was evincing interest in politics.
However, Brahmani might have thought there was no point in entering politics now, as Naidu has decided to take her husband Lokesh into the state cabinet.
When Lokesh is going to become active in the government, there is no need for her to join politics. May be, she will think of it in future!
