Book Naidu under Sec. 420

Book Naidu under Sec. 420

Setting a one-month deadline for the TDP government to implement the waiver of all agriculture and DWCRA loans, YSR Congress party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy said that his party would take up the cause of farmers and agitate holding dharnas across the State if it fails to meet the commitment.

He said people had believed Chandrababu Naidu’s election promise and voted him to power and the TDP government has been trying to delay the process.

“It has appointed Kotaiah Committee only to drag the issue and the report was not given for obvious reasons, he said. This is nothing but cheating the people. Any cheat will be booked under section 420 of IPC,” he said.

Jagan alleged that Naidu was shirking responsibility and was now searching for ways to wriggle out of the situation and exploring escape routes for waving loans.

“But we are with the farmers and will take up an agitation if the loans are not waived within one month,” he said while talking to reporters here on Thursday.

He recalled that Naidu had resolutely and categorically told the Election Commission that all logistics were worked out and the loan waiver scheme is feasible and promised in the subsequent public meetings that, with all the experience he has as Chief Minister for nine years, the scheme is viable and will be implemented immediately after coming to power.

Jagan ridiculed Naidu’s claim for the rescheduling of loans.

“It comes in a normal course whenever there is a natural calamity. And such an exercise has been the practice for the past 10 years. The reschedule now announced is only for Rs 10,000 crores while the remaining Rs 90,000 crores are left out from the scheme,” he pointed out.
