BJP Undecided About TDP Alliance in GHMC

BJP Undecided About TDP Alliance in GHMC

The BJP hasn't yet come to a final conclusion whether to go ahead with its alliance with TDP or to fight it out alone in the forthcoming elections for Greater Hyderabad.

In fact, there are differing opinions on the matter within the party.

Two groups in particular have been preparing to present their case when the BJP national president Amit Shah comes to Hyderabad.

One group feels that since TDP has no future in Telangana, it may not be wise for BJP to align with them. In fact, since BJP is looking to grow in Telangana, having an alliance with TDP may not work in their favour say local BJP leaders.

However, they maintain that since the party has only secured 5 seats due to alliance with TDP in Telangana, they must fight it out on their own for now and decide on a new strategy by next general elections.

On the other hand, the other group is arguing that since there are many settlers from coastal districts and Rayalaseema, it would be wise to have an alliance with TDP as they sympathise with the party.

The leaders from the other group argue that the same was proven during last elections when TDP-BJP alliance won 10 seats in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy district. So, they all for a TDP-BJP alliance.

It remains to be seen what decision the party top brass will take in days to come.
