Telugu Desam party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s attempt to replicate land pooling system of Amaravati in Visakhapatnam in the name of industrial development is facing stiff resistance from his own political ally, Bharatiya Janata Party.
BJP legislature party leader P Vishnukumar Raju on Monday strongly objected the attempt by the Naidu governemtn to replicate land pooling system in Visakhapatnam district and demanded CB CID probe into the whole episode.
Though the system was implemented well in Amaravati region, by which the state government succeeded in acquiring 33,000 acres land for the new capital formation, the BJP leader accuses gross injustice to be done in Visakhapatnam district by the way in which the government is implementing here.
He alleged that the land was taken over by real estate brokers, pushing poor farmers away. He alleged that great injustice was done to the poor farmers as the middlemen and brokers began taking away the lands by giving Rs 1 lakh as advance and by taking signatures on blank papers.
Raju alleged that the officials failed to give publicity of the land pooling. As a result, he said that the farmers were not aware of the fact that the government is acquiring their lands. He warned that the BJP will not keep mum to the injustice being meted out to the poor farmers.
