Bifurcation certain before next polls

The bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh would be completed before the next elections and Telangana and residuary AP would go to polls separately.

This was confirmed by none other than AICC general secretary in-charge of AP Affairs Digvijay Singh in New Delhi on Tuesday. He said Andhra Pradesh would be bifurcated to carve out Telangana State before the ensuing general elections.

The AICC leader suggested to the Seemandhra legislators to participate in the debate in the Assembly and air their views freely on the bifurcation of the State, instead of filing affidavits. He said the AP Reorganisation Bill 2013 would get Parliamentary seal in a special session to be called for the purpose.

Responding to a question, Digvijay said as Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was a cricketer, he knew better when he would face the “last ball”. He also refused to comment on the speculations that Kiran would float a new party. “Ask him, not me,” he said.

Digvijay also said there was no relation to formation of Telangana State and merger of Telangana Rashtra Samithi into the Congress party. He also said they would not mix administration with politics.

Stating that all political parties in the State had taken a favourable decision towards Telangana issue, he said it was not proper for some of them to take a U turn on the issue.
