It appears all is not well in the family of late Bhuma Nagi Reddy-Shobha Nagi Reddy family, ever since the couple died in a span of three years one after the other.
Their elder daughter Akhila Priya has been continuing the political legacy of her parents, younger sister Mounika and son Jagat Vikhyat Reddy have been taking care of the family business and other activities.
Sources said though everything was normal in the family, serious differences are learnt to have cropped up after Akhila lost the assembly elections in 2019.
Mounika and Vikhyat Reddy are said to be suspecting that Akhila Priya and her husband Bhargav Ram were in possession of many of their parents’ properties and are now bringing pressure on the elder sister for giving their due share.
Even Akhila’s cousin Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy, whom she had fielded in the by-elections from Nandyal in 2017 after the death of her father Nagi Reddy, is now said to not in talking terms with her for reasons known only to him. He did not even call on her when she was in jail recently in connection with the kidnap case.
According to sources, Mounika had a quarrel with Akhila a couple of months ago when she did not get a share in the proceeds of the sale of the land pertaining to an engineering college in Allagadda.
Similar disputes have reportedly arisen between the sisters with regard to share in the returns of two theatres in Tirupati and it led to closure of the theatres.
Sources said Mounika was preparing to file a case against Akhila Priya with regard to share in the properties, but the sudden arrest of Akhila Priya in connection with Bowenpally kidnap case forced her to drop the plan for the time being.
Though Mounika displayed tremendous affection towards Akhila Priya when the latter was in jail, she did not call on the elder sister even once after she came out on the bail.
Akhila Priya returned to Allagadda alone without the younger sister, which led to the talk that both are not in talking terms.
So far, Akhila and Mounika haven’t appeared together before the media, though Mounika said she would disclose all the details after the sister came out on the bail.
“It won’t take much time before the differences between the sisters come out in the open,” sources added.
