Stating that Telugu Desam Party chief and AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s role in the “Cash for Vote” scam was clearly recorded and telecast by some TV channels, the Telangana State council of Communist Party of India on Thursday demanded that the former resign from Chief Minister post in order to prove his sincerity as a good politician and man of moral and ethical values.
CPI State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy deplored the attempts to make the Note for Vote scam as an issue between the two Telugu States.
The Chief Ministers of the two Telugu States were trading charges in an uncivilized manner lowering the status of their posts.
As the recording of conversation in the note-for-vote scam appears to be cogent and convincing, there was no other alternative to Chandrababu Naidu than laying down his office and prove his credentials, the CPI leader said.
On the defection of MLAs, the CPI leader said the change of parties by the legislators was not only immoral but also illegal as the people in the game were feeling that they were changing from one room to another.
Stating that defections were going on shamelessly in the neighbouring AP State, Chada Venkat Reddy felt the need for the people to end the menace.
He also dubbed the role of the Speakers as bad saying they were misusing their powers undemocratically.
