With Chandrababu Naidu having gone to Davos to attend the World Economic Forum, the leadership in the State has been taken over by his son, Nara Lokesh!
Lokesh chaired a meeting of ministers, Party MLA’s, and senior Party leaders at NTR Trust Bhavan to discuss paddy procurement policy of the government and farmers’ problems.
Agriculture Minister, Pulla Rao, civil supplies minister, Paritala Suneetha, labour minister Atchannaidu and about 15 Party MLA’s took part in the meeting which lasted over two hours.
The key question here is: In what capacity did Lokesh preside over the meeting? He is neither an MLA nor an MP.
When the CM is away, the deputy CM takes over and when the deputy CM is also unavailable, then the next senior person in terms of protocol or seniority takes over.
How can a person who is not part of the government and who does not hold any senior post in his Party preside over a meeting of ministers and MLA’s?
Is this incident not sufficient to show that the TDP will forever be a ‘family party’ rewarding on the basis of nepotism instead of merit?
Naidu also before leaving for Davos is believed to have asked his ministers and MLA’s to project Lokesh as the crown prince in waiting.
