Compared to Jagan and Chandrababu Naidu, CM Kiran has a relatively clean image. Hence the news of his clearing a GO escalating the Jalayagnam works by a staggering Rs 20000 crore has shocked one and all in the State, and what’s more this was a unilateral decision by Kiran.
Hence, the Seemandhra legislators and Ministers are also unhappy because this would mean that they can get no kickbacks from it.
But why did Kiran do it? One reason could be that Kiran has realized that his days as CM are finally numbered and he wanted to make good money.
Yet, others opine that if Kiran were to start a political party now, it would obviously need a lot of funds and clearing the Jalayagnam payments would result in a lot of kickbacks to his proposed party?
Whatever be his reasons, the relatively clean image of Kiran has taken a blow with this single episode, especially when he has emerged as a hero for the Seemandhra cause.
