Encouraging MLA's in his party in violation of the rules seems to have become a habit with KCR. First it was Talasani Srinivas Yadav who continues to be minister in the TRS government although official records list him as a TDP MLA.
And now, the High Court has taken serious note of Patancheru MLA, Mahipal Reddy continuing as an MLA in the TRS.
Mahipal Reddy has been convicted by a trial court in a criminal case and was even awarded a sentence of two and a half years.
He had threatened an industrialist and obtained a cheque for Rs 15 lakhs. As per the rules, the conviction disqualifies Mahipal Reddy and the constituency should be declared as vacant.
However, Mahipal Reddy continues to draw his salary as MLA and other perks and incentives provided to legislators.
