Looks like Chandra Babu's love story with Hyderabad will continue forever. Prior to bifurcation, almost all leaders of all political parties fought it out for Hyderabad and Hyderabad alone.
It was then proposed that the city will be joint capital for 5 years, but once again there was huge drama and it was decided that Hyderabad would be joint capital for 10 years.
Now that bifurcation is a thing of the past, Babu is not at peace. He and his coterie are busy trying to start and complete work on the capital city. His government is also putting pressure on the government employees to shift base at the earliest.
Well, despite having almost 10 years to get going, Babu and his ministers now talk of ‘Telugu vadi aatma gauravam’ to precipitate things. However, while all that is going on one hand, surprisingly, Chandra Babu Naidu takes to constructing a new home in Hyderabad.
He neither has his offices here nor will he function from here, so the big question is why hasn’t he built a house for himself in Vijayawada? In fact, it is known that he is building a really huge house in Hyderabad.
Okay, that could be his personal affair. But he could have easily shifted his party office to Vijayawada, but he is refraining from doing so.
There was a talk recently that the ministers and secretaries would be asked to move their offices to Vijayawada. But decision was also deferred.
Prior to bifurcation, it was said that once United Andhra Pradesh is split into two, all Andhra-centric industries and film industry would permanently shift their base to Seemandhra. Once again, nothing of that sort happened.
But the list does not end here. So Babu fulfilled his dream of becoming the Chief Minister once again even if it meant becoming the CM of a split state.
He could have at least held Mahanadu in newly formed Andhra Pradesh. Tirupathi, Vijayawada, Visakha would have been ideal venues for the event.
In fact, ministers have razed huge tracts of land in Tullur recently and that would have come handy right now. Yet, Babu decided to hold Mahanadu in Hyderabad. Why? Since he has an eye on forthcoming GHMC polls in twin cities.
So that once again brings us to the core point. If all that Babu wants to do is to do everything in Hyderabad, then why rush things in capital zone?
He could have resolved the basic problems of people in Seemandhra and then shifted his focus on to developing the capital city. Wouldn’t that have made more sense?
