Babu Behind Suspicions On BJP

The TDP and BJP poll alliance has become a heavily debated topic in recent times apart from the T Bill.

While leaders of both the parties have consistently condemned such reports and said they did not need each other’s support, reports keep emerging about their upcoming alliance.

In an ideal scenario, Chandra Babu and BJP have nothing in common. But of late, the BJP Telangana leaders are irked by various media reports which talk of Chandra Babu’s proximity with Venkaiah Naidu who is also from Nellore district of Rayalaseema.

Also, Chandra Babu is said to have mentioned about a probable alliance between TDP and BJP during party meetings.

Their sentiments were voiced by senior BJP leader and ex-minister CH Vidyasagar Rao when he said that due to Chandra Babu Naidu, the BJP was being looked upon suspiciously.

On the other hand, BJP has two types of leaders, one section that is more vociferous and vocal about not having an alliance with the TDP and another section which is keeping silent on the issue.

Another key factor that is influencing their opinions is their strength to win seats in their constituencies.

For example, Kishan Reddy and Ennam Srinivas Reddy are totally against the alliance and are mincing no words in opposing it. Others like Indrasena Reddy and Lakshman are not anti-alliance.

Meanwhile, Chandra Babu’s meeting with their national leader Narendra Modi and Babu’s comments opposing state bifurcation have angered the BJP Telangana leaders.

In fact, they also fear that Venkaiah Naidu is working in tandem with Chandra Babu. So, given this scenario, the comments of Ennam Srinivas Reddy who accused Venkaiah Naidu of stalling the T Bill to have a poll alliance with Chandra Babu, are not surprising.

This has led to Vidyasagar Rao expressing his concern over Babu’s meetings with BJP leaders and hinting of poll alliance.
