Despite the repeated assertions made by the Delhi bosses over State bifurcation, Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers (APNGOs) Association president Ashok Babu is still trying to maintain the tempo of Samaikyandhra movement, ostensibly to keep his control over the NGOs.
Ashok Babu on Wednesday announced that the movement of Samaikhyandhra would continue irrespective of who wins the union's elections.
He said elections were held for the union once in every five years and they would be of no significance with regard to united Andhra Pradesh movement.
He said that the winning panel would carry on the anti-bifurcation agitation.
It may be mentioned that the APNGOs elections are scheduled to be held on January 5 and two panels, each with 17 members are competing against each other to take control over the powerful union of government employees.
While one panel is headed by present Working President Ashok Babu, the new panel is led by Basheeruddin of Prakasam district. And if Ashok Babu loses, he fears he might lose grip on the Samaikyandhra movement.
