AP Capital On 50,000 Acres Of Farm Land?

There has a lot of concern about the Andhra Pradesh government developing the new capital city around Vijayawada.

But the ruling TDP does not seem to be concerned with the plight of farmers with small holdings or the opinions of scientists or agriculturalists.

It has decided that it will go ahead with its decision of developing the capital amidst farm lands.

As per latest reports, the government has decided to take over farm lands up to 25 kms bordering the Krishna river falling under Prakasam and Guntur districts.

It is being said that nearly 50,000 acres of agricultural land will be taken over by the government soon.

The new capital city is likely to be built on 200 sq kilometers. But there is criticism from all quarters regarding government’s decision to take over private lands and farm lands instead of developing the capital on government and land belonging to the forest department.

Despite all concerns and criticism, Chandra Babu and his government are going ahead with their land pooling plan promising that they would develop an awesome capital city on the banks of river Krishna.

The biggies in the government are sure that they will be able to convince the farmers in the area to give up their lands under the proposed pooling scheme.
