Another ex-CS ups ante against Naidu!

Another ex-CS ups ante against Naidu!

Remember senior IAS officer Ajeya Kallam, who held the post of chief secretary for just one month in March 2017?

Considered to be an upright and sincere bureaucrat, Ajeya Kallam could not get extension for the post. In fact, Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu tried his best to get him a six-month extension, but the Centre did not agree for the same. So, he had to issue a same GO making Kallam as the CS and then announcing Dinesh Kumar as his successor.

This GO, apparently, caused a lot of anguish to Kallam and has led to severe criticism agains Naidu for announcing his successor’s name a month in advance. Kallam finally retired on March 31 but Naidu did not give him any other post.

Now, Kallam suddenly turned a bitter critic of Chandrababu Naidu like his predecessor I Y R Krishna Rao. Ironically, Kallam also served as the chief executive officer of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams like Krishna Rao.

On Friday, Kallam went hammer and tongs against Naidu government for wasting crores of rupees in the name of capital city construction.

“Corruption has reached its peak in Andhra Pradesh and in the name of the capital city, the government is encouraging real estate mafia,” he said.

Like Krishna Rao, Kallam also wrote a book on the corruption involved in the construction of Amaravati.

“Experience does not mean construction of big cities, but to develop villages as well. It is not correct to concentrate entire development at one place, but it should be extended to other cities as well,” he said.

He also warned the people against people who come in make-up and hoodwink them with lecturers. Obviously, he was referring to Jana Sena Party chief and actor Pawan Kalyan!
