Andhra Pradesh: Pawan Kalyan Distancing From BJP?

Andhra Pradesh: Pawan Kalyan Distancing From BJP?

Has the honeymoon between Bharatiya Janata Party and Jana Sena Party headed by power star Pawan Kalyan, come to an end?

The answer is yes, if the speculations going on in a section of political circles are to be believed.

It is learnt the Jana Sena chief is unhappy with the way the BJP leadership has been treating him and taking unilateral decisions without consulting him.

Apparently, Pawan Kalyan is not happy with the way the BJP has been maintaining friendly relations with the YSR Congress party, albeit indirectly.

Especially the talk that the BJP national leadership has invited YSRC into the National Democratic Alliance fold and the unusual silence maintained by both the BJP and YSRC on these speculations is learnt to have upset Jana Sena chief.

Similarly, Pawan is also said to be unhappy over the statement of BJP co-in charge of Andhra affairs Sunil Deodhar that BJP would contest the by-elections to Tirupati parliamentary seat.

In fact, Jana Sena is interested in contesting the Tirupati polls but the BJP has not even consulted Pawan before making the statement.

The BJP’s decision to go it alone in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) also angered the Jana Sena chief. In fact, Pawan expected that the BJP-Jana Sena would fight the elections together.

Agitated over the BJP’s unilateral decision, Pawan declared that Jana Sena too will contest the GHMC polls independently.

That Pawan Kalyan is distancing from the BJP is also evident from the way he met the leaders of Amaravati Joint Action Committee and extended support to them on Wednesday, in sharp contrast to the stand taken by the BJP leadership.

The Jana Sena chief even announced that he would consider reviving the plan of taking out a “Maha Pada Yatra” (Long March) from Guntur to Vijayawada via Amaravati.

In fact, the plan was mooted in February this year in coordination with the BJP, but had to call off the plan under pressure from the national BJP leadership.

The BJP has been keeping away from the capital controversy and in fact, has been suspending leaders whoever supported Amaravati demand and opposed three capitals plan of Jagan government.

Now, Pawan has decided to take up the Amaravati cause, indicating that he is breaking the alliance dharma.

It remains to be seen how the BJP leadership will react to the latest developments.
