Andhra Jyothy playing mind game with Jagan!

Andhra Jyothy playing mind game with Jagan!

It is a known fact that Andhra Jyothy managing director V Radhakrishna is an out-and-out supporter of Telugu Desam Party.

Whatever political story the daily publishes, it definitely has a political motive behind it that would benefit the TDP in Andhra Pradesh.

On Wednesday, Andhra Jyothy carried a political story saying that political strategist Prashant Kishor had advised YSR Congress party to join hands with Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan and other like-minded parties to float a grand alliance to defeat the TDP in the next elections.

“You cannot fight against TDP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu alone. If the YSRC contests the polls independently, it is bound to lose and Naidu will come back to power in 2019. So, it is better to consolidate the opposition vote and fight unitedly against the TDP,” the daily mentioned Prashant advising Jagan.

One doesn’t know how far the report is correct, but those who know Radhakrishna’s strategies would definitely suspect the motive behind the story. After all, why should he publish a story that goes against the interests of his friend Naidu?

So, there is definitely something fishy. First of all, Pawan Kalyan has not come out against the TDP, though he is mildly criticising the government besides the BJP.

Even if he goes all out against the Naidu government in the coming days, he will be eating into the TDP votes and not the opposition votes, because YSRC has already made a mark as a powerful opposition.

If Jagan joins hands with Pawan, it would only help Naidu in preventing the split of the TDP vote bank. Moreover, the alliance only exposes Jagan party’s weakness.

Secondly, Jagan has enough indications that he might get closer to the Bharatiya Janata Party and the latter, too, sent similar signals.

By carrying a story that Jagan would form an alliance with the Jana Sena and the Communist Parties, Radhakrishna might be planning to create a rift between the BJP and the YSRC.

Therefore, it looks like a sort of playing mind game with Jagan. Isn’t it?
