The Bharatiya Janata Party seems to be hell bent on removal of E S L Narasimhan as the common Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states and wants a new Governor to be appointed exclusively for AP.
On Tuesday, BJP AP unit president Kambhampati Hari Babu wrote a letter to Home Minister Rajnath Singh asking for replacement of Narasimhan.
He particularly asked the Centre to appoint a new governor for Andhra Pradesh, instead of a common Governor for both the states.
Haribabu expressed anguish over the partisan attitude of Narasimhan towards Telangana and his neglect of Andhra Pradesh.
He also mentioned the delay in the formation of a new High Court meant for AP and urged to speed up the works.
Haribabu’s letter follows the recent outburst of BJP floor leader in AP assembly P Vishnu Kumar Raju against the Governor for turning a Nelson’s eye towards Andhra Pradesh and favouring only Telangana government, more particularly Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his family members.
Raju was particularly angry with Narasimhan for rejecting the bill amending Non-Agricultural Land Assessment bill passed by the Andhra Pradesh assembly, while accepting a similar bill passed by Telangana assembly.
However, within hours of the BJP leader’s outburst, the Governor cleared the bill.
