It is now pretty evident that politicians, common people, government employees, private employees and even media persons in the State are vertically divided on regional lines. And when the Telangana bill came to the Assembly, the regional differences between politicians of both the sides turned into physical attacks. Same thing happened in Secretariat also.
And on Tuesday, even media persons from Telangana and Seemandhra came to blows at the Assembly point. In a bid to highlight the versions of leaders of their respective regions, reporters from various television channels entered into physical clashes.
A reporter from a TV channel owned by Telangana MP virtually pushed aside the reporters of other channels who were trying to take the bites of Seemandhra MLAs.
This led to clashes between both the groups and it was only after the intervention of senior reporters from print media, the situation came to normal.
Following the clashes, the police imposed restrictions at the media point by putting up barricades to block media personnel, both belonging to electronic and print media, triggering lightning protest by journalists.
The police made heavy security arrangements at the media point, following complaints made by some legislators to the Speaker on Monday that they were manhandled by journalists.
