Adimoolam to lose assembly membership?

If Telugu Desam Party president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu decides to act tough, party MLA from Satyavedu assembly constituency Koneti Adimoolam may lose his assembly membership.

Within hours of the ugly videos of Adimoolam surfaced on social media and various television channels in which he was seen indulging in sexual abuse of a woman, Naidu ordered the suspension of the MLA.

TDP state unit president Palla Srinivas Rao announced the suspension of Adimoolam, hours after the woman addressed a press conference in Hyderabad and released the video clippings.

“After getting a preliminary report from the local party leaders, TDP president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu ordered that the MLA be suspended immediately, pending a detailed inquiry into the incident,” Srinivas Rao said.

According to sources, Naidu directed that if the investigation reveals that Adimoolam is guilty, he would be expelled from the party.

“He will be asked to resign from his assembly membership. If he doesn’t, Naidu might recommend to the state assembly speaker Ch Ayyanna Patrudu to disqualify him,” sources said.

Adimoolam, a sitting MLA from the Satyavedu constituency from Tirupati district joined the TDP in January after quitting from YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) who had refused to issue a ticket during the assembly elections.
