Adala Claims Support Of 50 MLAs

Rebel Congress candidate in Rajya Sabha polls Adala Prabhakar Reddy on Monday claimed that he enjoyed the support of over 50 MLAs from Seemandhra regions for his candidature.

Adala said that nearly 175 MLAs were in favour united Andhra Pradesh and over 50 of them have assured to support his candidature.

He said that the decision to contest the Rajya Sabha elections was individual and he was not enjoying the support of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy.

Adala said that he hoped to raise the voice of Samaikhyandhra by winning the Rajya Sabha seat. He asked the MLAs to vote for him following their conscience.

Meanwhile Congress MLA Sridhar Krishna Reddy took light of a possible disciplinary action against him by the party.

He said he had actively taken part in the Samaikhyandhra agitation and therefore, he was not worried about any action by the Congress party.

He said that he had resigned from the Congress party, but the same was not accepted. Therefore, he said that any show cause notice served by the party would be answered by the people in his constituency.
