It is rather a foolish demand by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to ask Chandrababu Naidu to go for a fresh mandate from the public.
The people of AP voted CBN to power as they mainly believed that he would usher in development in AP along the lines of Hyderabad.
Also, Pawan Kalyan was instrumental in getting his community to vote for the TDP after they were promised reservation. And the farmers were promised unconditional loan waiver.
CBN has failed to deliver on all counts and even the development of the state and Amaravathi is not to the liking of the general public on account of large scale corruption being indulged in by the ruling party.
The call money scandal and cash for vote scam have been an ineradicable blot on the TDP. These are huge minuses for the ruling party. But ultimately, at the end of the day or five years, the pluses should outweigh the minuses.
If CBN realizes his mistakes and acts for the welfare of the state, he might win public trust once again.
YS Jagan should merely restrict himself to highlighting the shortcomings of the government and hope for winning the mandate in 2019.
Any calls for a fresh mandate at this point in time just because the ruling party is on the back foot is not feasible.
