Nara Lokesh was repeatedly pointing out that the TDP gave the Rajya Sabha seat to BJP only after a request from the BJP Chief Amit Shah. Thereby, Lokesh wants to create some measure of respectability for the TDP. But the reality is different.
Sources say that the TDP was extremely worried about not getting a request from the BJP until the very last minute. No request from the BJP would have meant no accommodation for TDP in the union cabinet and a formal break-up of the alliance.
The BJP does not need the TDP, it is he TDP that is hanging on like a leech to the BJP. Should the TDP be stupid enough to call off its alliance with the TDP, Chandrababu Naidu could very well find himself facing a CBI probe.
